Brief Summary

Aaron Matthews is an Aboriginal man from the Kija (East Kimberley) and Gurindji (Northern Territory) language groups. His undergraduate major is in Indigenous Community Management and Development (ICMD). Aaron's honours research investigated the experiences of Indigenous GLBTIQ+ student experiences in the block release courses at the Centre for Aboriginal Studies (CAS). His previous work experience is with Aboriginal organisations in Mount Isa where he worked for a Youth Health Program, Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centre, Youth Pathways Program and at the Centre for Rural and Remote Health. Currently, Aaron is completing a Masters of Education by research degree and will be studying the transitional experiences of Indigenous enabling students into higher education. Aaron is a Lecturer at CAS and works across a range of units, courses and programs.
